As a side note we have many lakes in Pennsylvania 10 HP or less. I used a 3 1/2 for three years because I didn't have bigger. It got me on the water.

Back in those 3 1/2 hp Eska 2 stroke thrashing machine era all I wanted was a few hours of relaxation on the water. That was before I got bit by the old boat bug. I had a 1960 Century aluminum row boat. It had more dents than hair on your head and leaked. I had to throw it in the truck, no trailer. So getting to the water, put the motor on ,load the boat ,fishing and getting the whole mess back in the truck go old.

i did the same thing rob with my 10' aerocraft lummie, in my then, ford f-100.. we had no ramp area. slid the boat down (with the 18hp evinrude laying on the floor) the 40' bank on the delaware river. and pulled it up with a 1" nylon rope. luckily the bank was covered with low growing brush so no damage ever occurred to the boat. still have it today, 1960 aerocraft.
