Hey Ronny, I have one too but haven't been able to find any info. I believe Al lockhart has, or had one as well.

Still have the boat, had planned on doing a resto mod 57 Chevy theme but ran out of steam. Have a f/g 57 dash if you're interested. Nice video, thanks for sharing.

Can I guess? You tied it to the dock Sunday, rained all week, bilge pump killed the battery. Came back to the cottage the following weekend, and there it is, on the bottom. At least that how it happened to a buddy of mine.

Barnickelbil is the winner. The only difference is that it was underwater for about 2 weeks.
Here is a picture from a more happy time. That's my mother and son just before the sinking. It was the first time the boat was on the water in about 5 years. I'm hoping to bring the boat a motor into the garage next week to start/continue work on it.

These boats seem to fall onto hard times!
I rescued this one last Spring, cleaned her up and put her into the lineup. Presently finishing up a Lakefield Abenaki (woodie). Looking forward to progress reports from Ronny's......maybe a visit to your shop? (My boat is about 150 km from Havelock).

Bill, is that a boat you rescued? Looking at the (one) pic it looks like there is quite a twist in the hull. Nice Morris single lever shifter on it. Worth a few bucks.

The hull does look twisted in the picture, but once I got it baled out,off the ground and up onto the trailer,the shape seems OK.
I've just cleaned it up and stored it for now, but I'm sure that after I cut open the floor,and transom, some repairs/replacements will be in my future. The Morse controls work smoothly (amazingly) and chrome fittings are a bit pitted but usable.Not bad for 20 years under a tree, but all those freeze/thaw cycles here in Ontario must have taken a toll. It was about to be buried, so couldn't let that happen!

Would love to have some commentary on the process. Here are a couple more pictures of mine...from different times. My avatar is another one, it is from about 30 years ago (thats me). boy, this boat has seen almost every kind of seat. Those from seats in my avatar are from a car.

You're correct about seats!.....all shapes and sizes. When I picked up mine, it had what would have been a nice set (when new)of Back-to-Back seats, that obviously were not original. I notice in your boat,what looks like a rear seat-bottom/floation chamber, a good idea for the obvious reason, but it also must add considerable rigidity to the hull. I also notice that yours has the 'free-standing" front seat like mine, as opposed to the molded in version we see on some examples. Unlikely that these were Factory options, probably just the Company experimenting or simplifing (cost saving?) the build. Regards, Bill. |

I had 2 Leavens Victors, should never have sold the red one... Anyway I had looked at the one you are currently working on just after the Chemong lake run last fall. I was considering it but I have too many projects as it is. Are you doing the work for yourself, a customer or for resale?? Al |

Nope not that one!
Here's the story of the 2 I had. The first I bought in 2005 locally and used it a lot until I bought the red one in 2006. I sold the blue one to a fellow in the U.S. but it has since been brought back to Canada and listed for sale on KIJIJI several times. The upholstery was all redone but a really ugly transom mod was made to hang a long shaft on it. The second one came from the Muskoka area and was a complete package with a 40hp Shark outboard and trailer. I sold the motor as I was going to hang a 60hp Gale on it but then a guy who saw a posting I had made here about the boat made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I have since seen it on KIJIJI for about what I sold it for and it doesn't look like it's been touched. Pics:
