Is that a trick question?i like to find out who is the first owner to my Dorsett or Glastron or my u-2 and my delmar but I think I rather have sleepless night thinking how I can restore it and make it look nice l.o.l.

It could have been sold with any motor... meaning whatever Engine manufacturer the dealer had a contract with is what went on the boat. There was no definite make/model/HP that went on it.

Who was the selling dealer? Is he still in business?

NJTriton is right.
Boat manufacturers like Dorsett maybe didn't have contracts with the outboard manufacturers but the dealerships probably did.
This gave the customer more choice actually when considering a boat purchase like which make/hp for their needs and budget.
Two popular options found on the '59 Dorsett Catalina were: the "first generation" Johnson Super Seahorse V-4 75hp Short Shaft(which was the big dog then on an 80 hp rated Catalina), and the twin 1959 35's.

Here's a nice one with the Johnson Gemini setup.
Her name is "Escapade", and although not a perfect '59 resoration...
she's really, really close. An absolutely beautiful '59 Catalina!

When I restored my 62 Catalina I figured since the transom was wide enough she might as well have twins so she got a nice set of long shaft 1961 40HP Evinrudes . They loved fuel but the coooool made it worth it!

Really nice JAG,love those 'Rudes and the fenders on that snazzy matching trailer. Can I steal the fender idea? are they poly or steel? My trailer is in good shape but original, and will be getting redone as well.

Yes it's a Super Gator with the original glass fenders, the trailer was a real mutt but the restoration on her came out pretty good.
