TOPIC: 1956 Glass Magic Sportmaster

Picked this boat up a couple months ago and for the life of me cannot find any others on the internet. The only info I can find are from an old brochure and spec sheet on this sight. Would LOVE to hear from anybody that has even seen one before, or may be able to pass along any more information! Do I have the last surviving one? Lol...

welcome aboard. no those boats are not rare, and I checked with the DNR from were you live and they are illegal there. so you best let me have it before you get in trouble. lol. you got a very nice boat, but I got no info on it. best of luck. frog

Paid a buck for the boat and trailer. Everything works on trailer, boat seems solid other than needing some work done on the transom area. Stringers seem good. Trying to get her in the water for under $100. Have put about 40 out of my own pocket so far. Decided I was going to see just how cheep I could be and see how far I can get. Estate and garage sales and just telling people has done me well. Now have a motor, gas tank and fuel line, and a couple other non necessities. Now if I could just find a steering wheel setup lying in somebodies yard I will be set!

Thank you thompson, that is where I have gotten the only information I have! Out of the entire internet, that appears to be it!

So, found an old P14 that I snagged a steering wheel mount, pulley and cables from, now need the steering wheel. Anybody know if there is a difference between wheels for the mount, or is the hole pretty universal?

The mount may be a typical tapered shaft, a keyed shaft or a few different types.

Since I'm not sure what a P14 might have had, nor what time period the P14 is from, it may or may not fit onto the steering shaft.

But if the steering wheel is a piece you WANT to use, then you might hunt for a steering hub assembly that will fit the wheel...

Ordered a new wheel last night in the hopes it fits the outfit I stripped from the boat. I believe this p14 was from the sixties. There are a lot of them in this neck of the woods as I believe Seaswirl, who manufactured them is located in Oregon. I will try to take a picture of what I have this evening to help with mu asking for advice...
