I have acquired this project boat, but have been unable to determine the make and model. Ii is 18 to 19 feet. I suspect it is circa 1958, possibly manufactured in Florida. There may have originally been two small compound round windows on both sides of the retractable center window, which may have been subsequently fiber glassed over.

Looks like it may be a Squall King.

I agree, she does look like a Squall King. Made in Miami FL.

I like it. If those glassed-over corner areas are sound, you could think about painting in darker accent panels to simulate the original window lines. Of course, you probably have a couple weeks work before she's ready for paint.

That is sure to be a head turner when it is done. Won't see yourself coming when you are out with it. B)

I have been doing some clean up and cosmetic work on her. My biggest problem going forward is trying to figure out how to fabricate the two front lexan bubble windows with their compound bends. Any ideas?

I would cut out the window shapes make them smooth and bring them to a plastics place and have them bend you up some acrylic using your two plugs as molds. Just a thought. Heating a sheet of acrylic or lexan is tricky. If you don't get the heat right or dry it out in an oven properly you get bubbles. It can be done in your oven but the raw materials are so expensive you may want to start with a pro on this one.
That said,I have a strong urge to try it myself just because
If I were to give it a shot. I would make the male mold (the cut outs I described above ) heat a sheet of acrylic or lexan up to dry it out In an oven. Place plastic over mold and bend and clamp. If you can get your hands on a vacuum bag set up that would be the way to go. Vacuum form the warm plastic over your mold (that you have drilled air holes into)and leave it till she cools.
Cool project.

Thanks for the advice. I think that cutting out the plugs and giving them to a pro is the way to go. Thanks again.
