I created a new page in the FiberGlassics Classic Boat Library entitled "Boat Magazines". This will be a repository of information on vintage boating magazines to help folks learn more about their span of publication, particulars about their special boat show issues, and other related information.

I started the page awhile ago as a means to keep track and summarize my research. As such, it is a page in construction (like the rest of the Library) and would benefit from any information folks are able to contribute. I am adding links to where these magazines are available online such as Google Books and Hathitrust.org.

Nice work Andy, those old magazines, books, and the Sheler's were all the info we had until the brochures started coming in.

I don't know if you know, but Boat Sport, Speed and Spray, and Hydroplane Quarterly are available as digital downloads at: boatsport.org/

Great list of publications. One comment on Hot Boat. I started a subscription way back (70's?). The mag was owned by the same person well into the 90's. His wife was the main model featured in the magazine up through the 80's. After he died they sold it off and the new owners completely changed the flavor of the magazine to a "family" boating magazine (no more skimpy bikini models or outrageous boats). It died some time around 2006-2007. The mantle was picked up by Performance Boats Magazine which is online and still going strong. There is still an on-line web site called Hot Boat, that looks a lot like the old Hot Boat Mag but I do not know if it is associated with the old mag. Although, on a Performance boats Mag forum some one said it was the old Hot Boat Website???? The person who claims to have been the editor at Hot Boat has an archive at hotboatmagazine.blogspot.com/ but he is obviously selling them. I don't know if it goes back to the really old stuff. As far as I can tell it goes back to 1983.
