TOPIC: 1957 Javelin 35hp

I have a chance to pick up a running 57 Johnson Javelin. All original parts are in place, chrome, controls, fuel tank etc. How much should I pay?

What kind of shape is it in
Does it have controls and dash plate

I've seen complete Johnson Javelins everywhere from 25.oo to 500.oo at various times. - It simply comes down to what the seller is willing to sell for & how much you're willing to pay.
(I know of NO value guide that is worth the cover price.)

It's worth at least 3 or 4 hundred if it looks good and has good compression. A lot of times the shift dog and gears are worn and need replaced and you won't know that until up run in on a boat a full power. If they are good you got a good deal. If not, maybe not so good a deal.
