TOPIC: Starflite Powerhead and Lower Unit Swaps

Hi Everybody,

I was reading the great thread last night about Hot Rodding a Fat Fifty. I'm up to speed on the compatibility issues on heads and reed valve intakes among early Starflites...

I couldn't quite figure out what the compatibility issues are for complete powerhead swaps, though. Can a 65 90-S powerhead be swapped onto a 58 Fat Fifty lower unit? What are other compatible/incompatible powerhead/lower unit possibilities with Starflites?

PS - Sorry if this has been answered and archived already. I searched the forum, but failed to find the answer.

Powerheads up to the 68 V-4 have the same base gasket.----66 V-4 100 will fit.
