I just bought a boat, motor, and trailer. the boat is a 1968 and so is the trailer. the po said the motor was bought at the same time, but then he said he could not remember. I have the mod and serial #'s they are mod #40753e, and serial# e04203. it is a big twin evinrude 40 hp, long shaft.the motor is all white. can anyone of you tell the correct year? thanks a lot. frog

1967 "Big Twin", Electric Start.

It should have mechanical shift, and came without a generator.

MarineEngine.com has parts diagrams for most models, but not yours...
This Johnson should be the corresponding model:
