I need to replace one of the spark plug terminal springs on my 1960 lark 40. Does the spring just pierce the plug wire and that's how it stays on? Does anyone have any tips on replacing the spring?

Add a bit of oil and pull the rubber boot off.----You will then see how it works.

Yes, the barb on the spring simply pierces the insulation. They can be a little tricky to get the barb to puncture the rubber wire - be careful that you don't poke a hole in your finger. The high - tension spark travels right through this connection - no need for crimping or soldering. As professor says, a dab of oil will help the pull the spring out of the cap. You can also use a dab of silicone grease or dish soap.
