TOPIC: Identifying a year

I have this motor and need to buy a carb kit but
I don't know the exact year, Does anyone recognize
this one. If not I recall being pointed to a site that IDs
them by cowl badges, can anyone point me to that site>

Looks like it might be circa-'65. The little black model/serial number plate that's visible in your picture, at the back of the port-side transom clamp, will have the model # you'll need to figure out the exact year.

The beauty of these motors is the simplicity of them and the interchangeability of parts from year to year.

A little expensive on fuel but cheap to own and maintain these motors.

I agree with the professor, they are great engines. Just use quality fuel & oil. Check the gear oil frequently & shift at low RPM to save clutch dogs. But like he says, they like fuel.
