TOPIC: 3hp Gale Spark Plug

My brother borrowed my 3hp SeaKing (Gale) single cyl. Model #GG18735B. Over the phone, off the top of my head to I told him the plug was probably a Champion J6C or J8C. He tells me the plug in it is a C53 or something??? Anyone know what it should be? Thanks

<edit> I found a bit more info, here's the Old Outboards service manual section for this motor:

It shows a J4J which was superseded by J4C, but if you're doing prolonged idling and not running at full throttle all the time, the J6C would be less prone to plug fouling and will probably idle better since it's running a bit hotter.

Not like it's an Inline Six putting out 1.5hp per cubic inch!
