TOPIC: Fat Fifty Motor Cover in Seattle Craigslist

OK, you Fat Fifty Lovers, just spotted this cover for $100 on the Craigslist, it looks to be all there, perfect for a restoration or retro-grading that newer motor!

I have 2 of these '58 covers, both are silver/argent colored backs and lower sides, this one is white, is either one correct...??? Were there different colors available?

I'm very happy with the condition of my original Four Fifty. They don't seem to be as popular as the Starflite. They just don't show up that often.

Well, I guess the old adage, "popular then = popular now" is really true, and like wise, "un-popular then = un-popular now". The poor old Four Fifty . . . lost and forgotten, bypassed by time. The Rodney Dangerfield of Evinrude motors. "No Respect".

I've never actually seen a 'Four Fifty'... I have four 'Fat Fifty's' now. I just picked up another '58, it was advertised as a '59, and indeed has a '59 cover, but the # is 50514-016xx which is a '58. It's pretty rough, but it's a short shaft, all my others are long shafts, so this gives me some adaptability to standard transoms... the cover is really rough, with most of the emblems and medallions missing, this might be a candidate to paint as a 'Four Fifty'...
