TOPIC: 1969 Johnson 20 Hp Electric start???

Anyone know if this motor had an electric start option?
Picked this little engine up for free a couple of days ago and with a little tinkering got her going today.Plan on putting it on a Jon boat for my 14 year old granddaughter and it's a bit tough to yank over with the pull cord.

No they did not. In face they did not make a 20 HP in 1969.
They made a 18 hp and a 25 hp

Now on those two motors elect start was able...finding one would be fun

I got to take the first statement back. In my old sales book there is no 20 HP. however in parts book there is..most the same parts as the 18 but the carb and the coils have dif #s

this starter bracket is as much as a starter

I just notice that part# 0175019 is the starter and a bracket...not sure if it is the same as above

Basically the same starter set-up from 57 to 76 on the 18 / 20 / 25----Do you have a ring gear on the flywheel now ?

Thanks for all the information!I guess I'll be hunting down some used parts because they seem to like their new ones a little too much! And yes, the engine already has a flywheel with a ring gear.
