TOPIC: Lower Unit Reassembly: what to look for?

Lower Unit Reassembly: what to look for? 13 years 7 months ago #30873

Some of you helped me with my 1966 Starflite 100 when I cooked a bearing race in the lower unit. Now thanks to Sea Way Marine I have reasonably priced used driveshaft on the way and next week I will be putting the old beast back together.

It looks pretty straight forward, but I'm sure like most things there's always something that can be overlooked. Just looking for input from the more experienced to try to save myself some headaches.

Also, is there a way to test the oil pump while it's apart?
