TOPIC: Gotta love Craigslist...

Another motor score- This time a 'garage find' in the Chicago Burbs... She's in GREAT shape, a few scratches, and need the lower unit put back on, but it's all there. One emblem has a crack, But I can live with that


Although it's a '57, I'll probably be using it on my '59 lake N sea, at least until I find the '59 or '60 lark I've been looking for...

I have one just like that only mine was a dump find. Was missing one badge and got one for it. Took me about and hour and had her running. I did put in a new impeller.

Many of those exhaust housings cracked just below the exhaust relief.

Looks like it was replaced with a Johnson one.

Yeah- That APPEARS to be the only 'replaced' part on there... I was just looking at it and wondering why it was white, then read this post- It's from a Johnson, for sure!!

I cleaned it all up today- She looks pretty good. A few bolts missing here and there (looks like they were trying to take it apart to get to the water pump and didn't quite know what to remove!), but otherwise looks OK.
