TOPIC: Today's score!

Today's score! 14 years 2 weeks ago #21444

After a long time of looking at drastically overpriced JUNK I finally got a decent group of motors and tanks for a fair price. I received a call from a fellow who was responding to an ad I keep on KIJIJI all the time, but had recently been renewed. He said he had 4 motors all in decent shape, 3 of them ran and 1 needed coils and he was letting them go cheap as his wife thought he had too much junk. So with a sufficient amount of $$ in my pocket I drove about 35 min to take a peak this morning and here's what I loaded in the back of the van:
1955 7.5hp Fleetwin

another 55 Fleetwin only made 21 motors later
1956 5.5 Fisherman
1968? 9.5hp Johnson
4 pressure tanks 3 carbs and 1 tank top complete with 2 line connector.

Good score! Those pressure tanks are bringing more than the motors in some places these days!

Nice find Al! I had one of those old low-rider Johnson 9 1/2's on my first (jon) boat. Thing ran like a sewing machine, never missed a beat. TNLark is right, those old pressurized tanks are getting pretty rare & pricey, from what I hear.

Nice find as far as the prsssure tanks they are getting hard to find but the conectors are even harder. So you done good. I did almost as good last fall. I got 9 motors from 1937 to 1950 Evinrudes and johnsons and a few others mixed in. Got 4 of them running and haven't had time to play with the others. All I had to do was get the guys 70 Johnson looper running for him.
Heres a pic of the motors Nothing like finding a motor thats been sitting for 20 or 40 years and hear it come back to life.

Pathfinder I see you have a Water Witch in your pile. They are cool.
I had to reduce my motor pile. Had more motors than time.
At one time I had over 50 Elgins. Down to about 10 including my 54 16hp B) Last summer I did find a nice clean working 6 gal Pressure tank just down the road at a garage sale. For $10.00 including the connecter,They said make offer so I did!
