TOPIC: '59 Evinrude 50hp dumb question

Hello, I recently put a '59 fat fifty on my boat, the engine was titlting up just fine, now it will not tilt. The engine lock is disengaged and it will move about 3" then stops. Any idea what would be hanging this up. I have been messing with it for a while and just cant seem to figure out what is keeping it from tilting. This seems really dumb but it has me stumped. Please help if you have any ideas.

Problem solved thanks to some help over on the iboats forum, it was a safety latch that kept the motor from flying up when removed from the transom.
