TOPIC: Spark plug wires.

Doing a complete tune up of the Gale 40hp 1960.
The PO or someone made a futile attempt to overhaul the carb and point system but had parts in the wrong place, wires twisted and taped together, Total wrong sync., you know the drill.
So far I've put in new fuel lines, vacuum lines, cleaned and sealed up the carb, put in a new diaphragm in the fuel pump (that diaphragm was totally destroyed by ethanol) my local dealer had three spare ones, there are new coils and points. Now all I need to do get some new plug wires. I always used solid core, has anyone ever used carbon core??

Never Mind. Got some solid core copper from my local dealer. $1.25 p/ft.

I only needed 5'. Back in the day when I had my '56 Dodge I had put all steel core wire with a clear red insulation. Looked cool as hell. Now that would play havoc with electronics.
