I absolutely had to get the wiring mess cleaned up in the control box. I said in previous posts that it's 10# of s... in a 5# box. Mounting everything on a board and sealing it in a easily accessible plastic container.
The old Voltage Regulator was labeled: Fld, Bat, Arm, etc. the new VR I bought from Autozone, is their Duralast brand manufactured by Wells. The problem I'm having is the new VR is not labeled like the old one. Same number of contacts but I don't know which ones are what. New VR contacts are labeled: F,2,3,4. I mailed Wells on Saturday and am waiting for an answer. Their manufacturing plant is about 60 miles south of me in Fondu-Lac, WI. Yes...Mercury Marine also.
Anyone know which contacts I should wire to?

Wells mfg, maker of auto electronics actually called and emailed me today and gave me all the info I needed. Sent me the spec sheet of the regulator and all the connecting points. If anyone needs it I can pass it along.

If that info is still handy, given the condition of my stuff, I may very well need it. Thanks.

I have it. When you start working on the motor start a thread on the JEGO section. More help there than you can imagine.
