TOPIC: Hole in Bearcat 55 Cooling Tube???

Hole in Bearcat 55 Cooling Tube??? 8 years 3 months ago #126693

I disassembled the top section (belly pan) from the upper leg, and the copper water tube has an approximate 1/4" hole in it. It looks like it was intentionally drilled. Is this supposed to be there to cool the exhaust?? I would think this would cause some decrease in water pressure, and am wondering if I should put a sleeve around this? Has anyone noticed this? Thanks!

No that hole should not be there, replace the tube to be safe is my advice.
Is that on the Ed motor?

I think I know what happened. It is the same level as the lower shock mount. I think someone had drilled a broken bolt out, as I actually had to do this on the other side. Thanks Bill!
