I like those custom knee braces!

I have a couple of pairs that look like those on a shelf in the garage. I believe mine are cast aluminum Those appear to be heavy sheet. Mine are covered in original Zolatone. I will have to check them out. Nice job on the braces.

What do you think of the beauty washers?

Sorry Chris, I started to comment yesterday put got side tracked. The general theme of the watercraft seems to be power & machine. Like many a street rod it has had the trim accents removed. While the bolts may not be deemed appropriate by "purists" they do continue the general theme of the boat. To place shiny trim there would look out of place with the exposed fuel cell and black rub rail. I would have to believe with the amount of thought that went into this project the builder looked at a black trim piece there but decided against it. All in all the Endurance g3 is an excellent "water rod". worthy of show and water. I would enjoy see it in person.

Please keep in mind that I'm not an expert, merely an admirer. The regular G-3 didn't have those bolts there, right? They really don't look out of place to me since this appears to be a "resto-mod" with the aluminum fuel tank, ski pole, steel braided lines (nice touch), etc.. Really nice job on the boat (whoever built it), btw! My terms would be sanitary and functional I guess.

First thought on the bolts and washers was "they could have been polished", but then again shiny isn't always better. They kind of fit the "motif" better just the way they are.

Since I'm not familiar with the G-3's other than the exposure I get here, I'm wondering if the lack of a splash well would be an issue? Always yearning to learn........

Mark, Agreed. One of the nice things about redoing/restoring old boats is that we can put our two cents in our effort.

Mindco Mike asked Eddie G. once about the 2 1960 copper pennies he found under the fiberglass tape at the base of the transom of his 60 g3 when he started his restoration several years ago. Eddie stated that the guy's on the build line at Glasspar would do that once in awhile so they could say they put in their 2 cents worth.

By redoing/restoring these boats we can do what they could not and that is making the changes we want in the boat. I dare say that most of us take more time and correct what the factory missed when these boats were built. Whether Glasstron, Glasspar, Bell Boy or whatever boat company. I would also say we tend to overbuild them as well. I believe this ability on our part to make these changes are points of personal satisfaction that are well earned.

Still wish you could be there for the 7/20 splash.

That weld is a walk in the park, well not for anybody but.. I've got whats needed to knock that out. I can make em any size you'd like too. And I can cut just about any design/lettering into the face of it if you choose. :)Hell, if you want them stainless, not a problem either.


I think for the prototype that I'm going to make, I'm going to modify the design a bit, and incorporate some other things to it. I really like the idea, but I only have one thing that I can see as a possible issue. A knee brace is best placed tied into a stringer if possible. Your main stress point in this design directly relates to the bolts thru the floor.

Is it practical to ship your work, truck freight?

Sure. I can ship all types of different ways.

Samples and small orders of things can be shipped via mail.

I just used a new carrier this week freight collect from FL to me in St. Louis MO. It was a really good price too. I'm going to look into an account with them after I wrap up these couple projects.

Those knees made out of aluminum, stacked properly/foam wrapped/banded/palleted shouldn't be too much of a big deal.

Full trailer beds across country from our exclusive freight company gets a bit costly, but they'll do it when I call and be there within a day or two.

No problem, If your wanting a set, just let me know what size would work for your application. IE- size of mounting pads for your boat, Leg A, Leg B, and any preference on finish or material. And if there is any angle to the transom/floor

If your wanting any logo or script in place of the holes, that can be done too. Remember, whatever logo or lettering that would be requested is cut as a negative. Don't try and use the lettering/logo as the structure. It's been done, but only as deocorative.
