I'm working on removing the subfloor remnants of my '60 G3. I've used a 4.5" grinder with a cutting disk to remove the big stuff and the same grinder with a very coarse semiflexible disk to take down the remaining globs and glass installed by the previous restorer (not me.) In a couple of places it looks as though the restorer poured a bed of resin along the centerline then set the longitudinal stringers into it without and fabric. After that cured, he applied fabric and resin over the top of the stringers and hull. I've been grinding out the resin bed with the abrasive disk, but it's awfully slow going and I'm going through disks at a pretty good clip. Is there another appliance I could use to make it go faster. Thanks.

Air tools may help.

Many rebuilders think they will be the last ones rebuilding their boats. Nobody
thinks about the next time it will need to be done. Working on a G-3 that has never
been rebuilt is easy because the factory did not build them to last forever.

Good luck. We love to see pictures.

I hear ya....I found puddled resin, leaves, piles of dirt and a saw blade in my last C/D rebuild. I like the sand paper wheel, 40-60-80 grit, BE carefull as it will go right through the hull!

Oh and we love pics!!!!
