TOPIC: Yamaha power trim for the Stinger guys

Yamaha power trim for the Stinger guys 13 years 2 months ago #38420

This power trim 'might' be the one used to modify the OMC Stingers so they have power trim.
I'm not sure so be sure and have one of the guys that have completed this modification confirm this one is the correct one for that project.

It's the swivel bracket AND the trim unit off of the smaller
50 hp Yamaha motors. The bottom of the swivel bracket has to be cut
to the proper length to make the modification. This unit is very similar
to the OMC V4 style trim & tilt. I can't see how it could work.

John is right, you need the swivel bracket as well as the Yammie mounting brackets. Go back to July 22 or so of last year on the old board for my step by step tutorial on this conversion. If that is the right trim unit, you are well on your way to having the required parts for the conversion.
