We need to get a few cruise days going at various locations, a dust off, a summer cruise, a foliage run etc.
I know lots of good water for our smaller boats I'm sure others do to...
C'mon let's get some glass together. Let's get organized during the winter so we can be at least thinking boating thoughts......anyone????

randy, FGNE has a spring dust-off meet every june at silver lake in n.y.state. we've tried over the years to add additional meet sites at other locations but there was only a few of us who we're willing to travel the distance (myself included the last few years.) at one time we had figured out the spot that was pretty equal in travel distance to us all was lake wallenpaupack in the poconos. i think the majority of us lived within 3 1/2 hrs. of the lake. one year the housatonic river in derby, ct. was mentioned but never materialized. the group who use to meet at silver lake in n.y, has reduced to probably half from our first meet in 2006. some lost interest, others sold their boats. tim calmes and dave albertson are 2 that are most involved in FGNE these days. maybe they will see this post and have some suggestions. ron

Hi Ron,
Well thanks for not noticing I forgot to list NY!
I'f it's the Silver Lake below the Utica area it is 5 hours which makes it an over night for me, I'll d figure out if I can swing the dust off. I am getting concerned people are drifting away from the hobby and maybe if we had more get togethers for support and fun it would help keep the spirit alive.
We used to have the pin board showing where people are but I'm thinking some member list by city, state might help come up with places that would encourage more participation. Like drawing a 2 1/2 hour drive circle on a map that way when members are 5 hours apart you only drive half that.
I am in Amesbury MA on the Merrimac river which does provide many miles of flat water for our smaller boats.
Maybe others in the region can chime in on this post and we can work around.
Get the guys you know to respond.

I would be up for something, but I am not sure we have the people. Most NY locations would be an overnight. Something around the CT River would be central for New Englanders.

Yes the CT river would be a good stretch of water, maybe around Holyoke MA?
The dust off on lake hoptacong might be a good rallying event.
There is also a group of Scream and Fly guys meeting in upperstate NY early June they take over a state campground on a lake can't remember which one right now ( gazandaga?)but, I'll brobably bring my 74 Hydrostream they love the old school stuff even if not fast, the right kind of crowd from my experience despite the name.
Might be another existing event to rally around.
Thoughts?
I'd do any of those if we can get some interest going...

We have some nice fiberglassics among the members of our Maine-based AOMCI chapter. A Massachusetts meet might draw a couple of us down. Pine Tree Boating Club
