This fuel pick (from a tank that I cleaned the crud and and some rust from is pretty plugged up. Fuel barely flows through it when using a fully functional clean fuel line with good bulb. I tried soaking in ethanol regular for a could hours (pushed in the pins multiple times to get gas inside). Should I use a different solvent - carb cleaner? Mostly, I've just succeeded in getting some of the black paint to start peeling. Thanks.

I think carb cleaner would be a good idea and if you have a compressor shoot some compressed air thru it.

You may have to pull the fuel pickup and clean/blow it all out. You can still get the cork gasket, the P/N is 302557 and is also available as a Sierra Marine aftermarket replacement part, 18-2887. HTH..............ed
