TOPIC: `56 FeatherCraft Rocket almost done

Here is another classic back on the water (almost). # RR1 153 56 . I don't know what the heck the previous owners did, but it needed alot of work due to ice expansion damage(?) and general abuse.
All the seat brackets were broken and I had to make new brackets, all 4 transom braces were cracked at the top and had to be welded, 2 stringers had to be repaired back towards the transom and one had to be welded up front, the keel had a 2 foot long crack towards the bow that had to be welded (no evidence of damage outside), and a big corrugated sheetmetal patch with lots of screws had been put on!(like 20 more holes to be welded!) In any case, it is all better now.Lots of repairs, new hardware, removed the exterior anodizing, some polishing, and new transom wood etc..
Needs a little silver paint on the dash, some black paint for the deck stripe and accents, attach the bow light,and it is ready to go to the upholstery shop for a seat. The `58 Mercury Mark 58 is almost ready for paint also.
