TOPIC: 1956 Feathercraft Vagabond ll

Picked this up yesterday from original owner.
Awesome condition,except for raised transom (easy fix).
New tuck/roll interior never been sat on.
Can't wait to polish it up.
Dealer emblem on dash from Marion Herring/Ft.Worth,Tx. He owned Chris Craft dealership in the 50's and was involved(maybe started Ft. Worth boat show at Will Rodgers Col.)Looked up Marion Herring on Web& even saw picture of Feathercraft Vagabond@ Ft. Worth boat show.(circa late 50's/early 60's.

Putting the 57 Evinrude Big Twin on the Vagabond ll as soon as I clean it up,came with 35 Johnson but the guy wanted it so he gave me a 50 Merc instead.
Got a 60 Merc 400 going on the 58 Reinell Jetabout.
Still can't believe how clean and complete.
Will post pics. as I progress.

This came from Lake Possum Kingdom in Texas.
The interior was redone using all the original snaps, clean job.
Got lots of good history:
Owner said he had memories riding in that boat at 4 years old with his dad.
Said he put windshield on in 1965,ordered from J.C.Whitney.

Congratulations! That's a fine looking Vagabond II with some nice accoutrements. Bet it will polish up just fine!! Nice.
