TOPIC: Can you indentify this aluminum boat?

Can you indentify this aluminum boat? 14 years 2 months ago #17247

The title said it's a 1959 Jetcraft, but the previous owner said he had contacted Jetcraft, and they had said it's not one of theirs;

I forgot to write the first time;

A serial number is stamped on the top starboard side of the exterior of the stern (where you would expect a HIN on a new boat) that begins with "DD"

The windshield is marked Taylor Made; there is a second set of screw holes closer to the cockpit, so it may be a replacement for an original that was smaller. It also came with a Taylor Made bimini, and there is a (broken) Taylor Made "Chart Liter" in the dash, and it came with an Airguide speedometer that had water inside the crystal.

There's a small plaque on the (wood) dash that says "Doc" Chauvin, Worcester Ma (very close to where I picked up the boat), who I assume was the dealer/outfitter.

It looks a bit like the Aero-Craft in this ad.

The transom looks like an Aero-Craft too.

I agree! And jetcraft and aerocraft could have been confused.

I found a thread at iboats that has more aerocraft photos.

Does anyone have a 1959 aerocraft or 1959 aerocraft catalog?

I'd like to know:

If they changed the bow handle that year.
The capacity and HP ratings.
The location and size of the logo.

Thanks!

(I have a price schedule from then also)

I picked up a 1962 catalog this week, and it has an exact match,
down the the model name "DD":

Congratulations on identifying your boat. Original literature is invaluable when seeking to identify or restore a vintage boat. If you have scans of your catalog and would like to share them with other owners, we can add them to the FiberGlassics Classic Boat Library for all to enjoy.
