TOPIC: KINGFISHER BOAT? BAY MARINE

Can anyone tell me more about this boat. I cannot find any info on Kingfisher aluminum boats? I don't have any interior photos. Current owners says its a Kingfisher.

If anyone has any info please let me know. Or a pictures would be great if anyone has some. Thinking of picking it up as a project.

A company called Master Molders, Inc. of Clarksville, TX made "Kingfisher" line of fiberglass boats starting circa 1962.

Maybe they also made aluminum boats? Or sold boats obtained from another builder as their "Kingfisher" aluminum line. Who knows.

There also could have been another company making "Kingfisher" aluminum boats - not related to Master Molders, Inc.

Thought it was the only known 12ftr, which isn't the one you found, which also looks 12ft.

Interesting looking boat, the seams are certainly unique

The Kingfisher boats out of Clarksville, Texas were made by John Dial out of what was left of Redfish. John was the working lead under the Walters brothers. He and his sons continued making fiberglass fishing boats through at least the 80’s. Aerial photos of their plant match exactly the aerials of Redfish. I interviewed John’s widow quite a few years ago and got some interesting history. The Bay Marine boats are really quite interesting. I’ve seen a couple of them up here in northern Minnesota, pretty much in the condition that you see here. Very unique. Large floatation tanks along the sides. Very wide at what would be the dash part of the boat, tapering to a narrow transom. Both boats that I saw were rowboats. If you like the odd, this one would put a check on your list.

Thanks everyone for the responses. The owner flipped it over. It has a rudimentary dash for a steering wheel if needed.

The boat had what looks like severe damage to the bottom of the hull at one point. Someone recovered the bottom over the old skin. Leaving patch holes and rivets. The bottom side you cannot see in the photos is all patched up.

Trying to figure out if this is worth my time to drag home. My PO-15 would be a great match for it.

Did these have a raised keel? This one just has riots down the keel where they folded the two halves the of the boat together...
