TOPIC: How can I identify this boat using a serial number

The original serial number is on the transom tag can this identify the year of this boat the registration says 1956 but is this correct Does anyone know how to tell This is a lone star Malibu model 14 foot it was repainted seats are not original but functional. Need help on how to restore and how to get old paint off I do know the dash is the original color it teal

People are not very original, the paint scheme looks like the 59 design. On my Cruise Liner the PO used different color house paint over the original design.
