I stumbled upon a '56 Feathercraft, and am trying to ID the model. It's about 14' 5", with about a 3' 8" deck. It's a rather narrow beam (forgot to measure), aluminum bench seats, OBC rated 18hp, square cornered bottom at the transom. With 'teal' anodized finish. Sorta looks like a 'Fisher' model, but not sure. Hopefully I can do the pics on here. Thanks for any help.

OK, thanks. Near as I can tell, it does look like a 'Fisher' model, which first appears in the '57 catalog. I will have to re-check the length. But it is the only model with the 'flat' stern...

Check very carefully inside the red circle:

there should be a serial # stamped there, that will ID the model, what month it was made, what # it was off the line and the model year.

The Feathercraft site has a serial 3 decoding page

OK, I found the #, Looks like, -14 S 4xx 59 B- So, it looks like a '59, the reg. says '56. I suppose when they started registration, if people didn't have original paperwork, they probably just 'guessed' at the year. The 'S' is supposed to be a 'Skipper' The reg. does not have an ID# on it. And it is 13' 8".

It was built in April, the 4 you just posted, and blue anodized, the B at the end.

The 2 #s you showed as xx, are the order it came off the line.

55BigTwin,

NICE BOAT. = Looks like a GREAT trotlining & "perch-jerking" rig to me.

I don't think that you'll have any trouble finding a suitable 1959 outboard to restore/power it.

I do have '59 & '57 Evinrude 18's, a '59 Johnson 10hp, a '55 Evi nrude 15hp, a '57 Gale 12hp, '59, '55 & '54 5 1/2hp, '56 '63 & '66 3hp. I can't wait to try 'em out. The issue now is trying to get it registered in NYS. I got it from a guy, who got it from a guy, who got it from a guy... it hasn't been registered in 12 years, and the last actual registrant is long deceased. Believe it or not, I have reached the widow of the last registrant. She is 1000 miles away but seems receptive to helping me with the paperwork...
