TOPIC: First post, looking for first boat!

Well, I'm back. I still haven't taken this boat out yet, but it's looking good for tomorrow. I ran it again today and had 2 questions. How warm should the top of the motor get? On the left side (passenger side I guess) there is a weep hole that is part of the side cover. Water weeps from this. I think last time I ran it I had the cover on. Is this normal?

The top of the motor gets warm, not too hot to touch, but hotter than you would want to sit on.
