Right now I use a GMC Suburban 1500. Does a good job. Back in 72 when I first bought the Boat I had a Chevy Malibu (small V8). It's amazing what an oversize radiator and trans cooler can do. We went all up and down the Colorado River, the Sacramento River Delta etc. It did fine & there are plenty of large hills to climb. I never weighed the boat but its gotta be over 5000 lbs on the trailer.
