A real nice Amphicar just sold at (Barrett Jackson) auction for $112,000,

GANG: JUst like a few years ago . Barrett Jackson auction just sold a very clean light green 1965 Amphicar for $112,000 , Course it was owned by Alan Jackson. MOre than double his dark green Pontiac GTO about $47K

I have been posting the restoration of my amphicar regularly. There have been a few that have brought 100,000 or more, most sell for 50-60,000. I am restoring mine to drive and enjoy, not a showroom restoration but a good one that will hold up. I have been vacationing and will get back to it very soon.

That is what I would do if I had one. Fix it up and use it. The only way to enjoy such things. I'm not a trailer "Queen type of guy. Of coarse that unit does not require a trailer.

Back in the late 80's when I was living in Alaska, a guy had two of these cars sitting in his front yard collecting rust. Every time I would drive past them, I thought how cool it would be to restore them. I never stopped to see what kind of shape they were in but I'll bet I could have gotten a good deal on them. Oh well!
